What’s better than a fresh batch of cupcakes and America’s favorite cookie, you may ask? These two entities of sugary happiness combined. Starting this week once a week, I’ll be posting for your viewing pleasure some of my favorite foodstuffs that have been incorporated into other unconventional recipes. I decided to kick off this week with an oreo inspired cupcake. This recipe is a variation the classic oreo cookie.
For those who are unaware St. Patrick’s Day falls on March 17. According to History.com, it’s celebrated by both the Irish and “Irish-at-heart” across the globe every year. It began as a religious feast for the “patron saint of Ireland” but took off as a worldwide festival that celebrated the Irish culture with, music, dancing, parades, special foods, and lots of green. Nowadays, St. Patrick’s Day is centered around beer, shamrocks, and…more beer. But this year let’s make this Irish holiday about cupcakes, shall we?
We’ve all been there: standing in the middle of the kitchen wondering whether or not the baking powder that’s been in the pantry for months is still good for use. Or perhaps you forgot to pick up an ingredient and thought: “Can’t I just substitute it?”
